To honor our colleague and the history of education in BRISTOL, we proudly offer the William Irving Smith Scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Seniors from Bristol who have been accepted to a college/university/community college/vocational technical school, or current college freshmen, sophomores, or juniors are eligible for a $2000 award. Those eligible can submit yearly.

About Bill Smith:
Mr. Smith, a native of Round Pond, graduated from Washington Grammar School in 1946 and from Bristol High School in 1950. He matriculated at Northeastern University, withdrawing to serve in the United States Navy from 1957-1961. Returning to Northeastern, William graduated in 1965. After decades of living in Massachusetts, William(aka Bill) returned to Round Pond in 2007. Since that time he has been an integral member of the RPSA board, and currently serves as Vice-President and Museum Committee Chairman.
